The bloodiest day of the war was March 23rd in An Nasiriyah. 26 Marines from Task Force Tarawa lost their lives. The Marines of 3/2, 1/2 and 3/8 fought almost non-stop for 48 hours. It really burns my backside to hear about the people who got caught being in the wrong place at the wrong time - they are considered Heroes??? The definition of hero is one who places their life in danger in order to save another. I guess the true meaning has been lost. The Marines who were injured in battle wanted to be treated in the field hospital and return to their unit - to be with their "brothers". I stand in awe of the dedication, motivation and courage of the Marine Corps. I think they are all Heroes!
