Geographical Art.

Madness and genius, laid out on the Tube.

I found the animals on the underground oddly fascinating, and not just because we have an Airedale.

The Classics, Unbound.

This internet thingy is full of strange and wondrous things. Here, as an example, is the script for Harold and Maude.

Content.

Malcolm Gladwell has written a lot of articles that I have found interesting. Here's an archive of all his writings for The New Yorker, including PDF versions for printing.

He must have some sort of different copyright arrangement with his publishers.

I Have Two Friends.

I have two friends.

One is non-particapatory. He lives his own life.

The other friend is particapatory. All the time. Waitresses, strippers, bus drivers, accountants, business contacts, he is particapatory to the point where everyone knows exactly where they are with him all the time.

My friends are so different, and yet I am friends with them.

The open friend can scare me.

I like that, but it is different than a theoretical situation.

The staid friend is in some ways my anchor, even if he is not that big an influence, he exerts an influence.

What that all adds up to is that I only have one guy that is a real buddy of mine here, and I have one other buddy that doesn't live here. The rest of my friends may have been better friends but they have fallen away, and I am left with lemon and lime, bourbon and tequila, the friends I don't agree with but the friends I have left.

I don't know about me, and I don't know about the rest of the world, but I know that the friends I have left are exactly what they are, and I thank them for that. Lots of people could get by a lot better of the had such stalwart, weak anchors.

My friends are imperfect, and I am lucky to have them.

Poor bastards are stuck with me, though. Serves 'em right.

Angels On Our Side.

I always thought the Bush halo photographs were just weird, but now it makes sense!

Ecto-Plasm.

This is a test of Ecto. Seems pretty involved, but we'll see how it does. Update: Seems to work OK. Let's test some more features.
