Hey, why not have an entry in your cellphone phonebook called ICE, for In Case of Emergency? You know, a number the emergency services personnel can use to contact your immediate relatives to notify about your current state and to gather any needed info to treat you?
Not a bad idea, is it? Well, pass it on....
So, we had the turkeys in town. In our neighbors driveway, specifically. And of course we regaled all our friends with the tales of the turkey with three poults living in town, and then had a bunch of people tell us about turkeys and how they wouldn't be in town, and we must be mistaken(but, uhm, I have pictures...).
So the UPS man shows up Friday afternoon, and says "You'll never guess what I saw on the next block. A wild turkey! Can you believe it!". And I say, did it have three poults with it? He says "I don't know about poults, but it had little ones with it, three of them as a matter of fact!".
So, yeah, apparently the weirdo wild turkey that was sighted almost three weeks ago wandering around in residential Urbana, IL, was not just lost one day, the goofy bird has decided to take up residence and raise her young here.
Unless, of course, it's actually a different bird with her clutch....
